Get a head start on your child's sight words!

The first day of school is just a month away so why not get a head start on those sight words required for first grade!  Extra practice at home can only ensure your child's success so below you will find links to the dolche sight words lists and other sites that you can use at home with your child.  Remember, repitition is key so let's get started!

Dolche Lists
This link will take you to a teacher site where the words are grouped from pre-primer("pre-K") to a third grade level.  ALL of these words are required for mastery by the end of first grade.  It includes links to printable flashcards and a powerpoint slideshow that you can test your child's speed and accuracy from.

Spelling City
This link will take you to a site that we recommend all year.  You can use the links on the sight to import dolche lists into games for fun practice for your child.

Dolche Workbook
This link will take you to a PDF file full of the grouped dolch words, and sentences that your child can practice reading as well.

Spelling Practice with Dolche Lists
This link will take you to abcya.com.  Here you will find spelling games so that your child can also practice learning to spell the words they are learning to read.

Summer is winding down and while a break to spend time and vacation with family is welcomed, so is a new school year!  Below you will find a list of school supplies that you can use to start your back to school shopping. This can also be found on the school's website and will be given out at Sneak-A-Peek on August 2 from 4pm - 6pm.
