Agenda and reminders for the week of February 6, 2012
In ELA/Reading we are reading Where Are My Animal Friends? . This story is about animals in the forest getting ready for winter. This story's phonics lesson focuses base words + -er, -est endings. The secondary phonics concept is the -dge /j/ sound. Grammar for this unit deals with verbs. We have also touched on pronouns and mutli-meaning words.
*Review these concepts with your child by:
-having your child write sentences and circle the verbs

-having your child find verbs in TV commercials, on websites, etc.
-having your child make a -dge /j/ flip book with various words.
-having your child identify the base words in -er, -est words
-comparing 2 and more than 2 using -er, -est endings
